My latest spoken-word musing - put to relative song (recording is posted on the "My Videos" page).
Verse 1:
That cave that beckons, this I know
Let’s keep this about you, maybe you’ll grow
What’s this that tugs, confuses and weighs?
Benumbed by trauma, and crippled by pain
It wasn’t your fault, so early in life
But pain unending, prolonged the strife
Where’s fairness, justice, and the promise of peace?
When you’re lonely, discarded, and quite frankly the least
Chorus:
No one was there, in that bone-chilling place
Ah but there was, the One Who gives grace
No one was there, in that bone-chilling place
Ah but there was, the One Who gives grace
Verse 2:
Wave upon wave, does despair make its place
Try as you may, it adorns your face
Entrapped and despondent, seems nothing has changed
But look once again, you’ve something to gain
See it again, even if you moan
See it again, you really weren’t alone
Lonely, afraid, discarded and cast
You’ll find not really, He was there alas
Chorus:
No one was there, in that bone-chilling place
Ah but there was, the One Who gives grace
No one was there, in that bone-chilling place
Ah but there was, the One Who gives grace
